Splendor Ridge Elk Farm

Trophy Bulls

Splendor Ridge Elk Farm raises about 10 - 15 elk trophy bulls each year for the trophy hunt market.

By the age of five, our elk bulls are consistently 6 x 6 or larger, with an average score of 390 SCI. Because of our continued dedication to using artificial insemination and selective breeding, we believe the animals we have in the bull pen today will soon push our averages to 400+ SCI at five years old with several pushing 400 SCI at four years old.

Our elk breeding goals revolve around growing the trophy bull rack to 400 SCI earlier in the bull's life to minimize years of room and board and to maximize return profits.

While breeding for exceptional antler size, our elk trophy bulls are also in exceptional body condition. Trophy bulls are fed a specific diet of grain/nutritional supplement and high quality hay in the spring as their antler begins to grow, followed by lush green pasture in the summer which allows them to finish out their rack to perfection.
